Bacon & Eggs, Thank You & A Surprise Giveaway

These are so much fun and they take all of 15 minutes to make. I'm adding them to my Christmas cookie boxes this year because who doesn't like chocolate and pretzels?

There are only 3 ingredients to this fun treat- Pretzel sticks (bacon) white candy melts or white chocolate (egg white) and yellow M&M's or Reese's Pieces (egg yolk). That's it!

My pretzel sticks were a bit long so I broke them in half and placed them in pairs on a sheet of parchment paper.

I heated up the candy melts in a disposable piping bag in the microwave. Then piped a small mound onto the pretzels.

Then top with a yellow M&M (m side down). Let the white candy harden and you're done! I made 60 of these in about 20 minutes.

Now onto the thank you and surprise giveaway. I've always wanted to figure out a way to say thank you to my loyal readers and commenters. But it's hard to do that with a giveaway because people come out of the woodwork to leave a comment just so they can win something and that's not fair to you. I appreciate the comments, but I appreciate more your loyalty and your sincere comments, emails and the friendships that we've developed over sweet treats and blogging.

So I am giving away a copy of the two books I reviewed last week. But here's the catch...the only people who are eligible to win this book are the people who expressed interest and left comments on those posts. And don't try and cheat because I've turned the comments off of those two posts. Leaving a comment on this blog will not help you win either, but I'll appreciate them none the less :-)

The people eligible to win Confections Of A Closet Master Baker are:

  1. Julie Harward of The Harward's
  2. Colleen of Souffle Bombay
  3. Heather of Girlichef
  4. Treehouse Chef of Treehouse Kitchen
  5. Lissaloo of One Step At A Time
  6. Sue (Someone's Mom) of I Need Mom
  7. Ingrid of 3 B's
  8. Debby of A Feast For The Eyes
  9. Debbie of Mocha Me
  10. Tamilyn of Butter My Kitchen

The people eligible to win Planet Cake are:

  1. Mar of Cakes By Mar
  2. Ingrid of 3 B's
  3. Smitten Sugar
  4. Debby of A Feast For The Eyes
  5. Sue (Someone's Mom) of I Need Mom
  6. Janet Bridge of From Captain's Daughter To Army Mom
  7. Michelle of One Ordinary Day
  8. Alicia of The Red Deer
  9. Katie of Apple & Spice
  10. Lissaloo of One Step At A Time
  11. Maria of Two Peas And Their Pod
  12. Debbie of Mocha Me
  13. Kerstin of Cake, Batter and Bowl
  14. Shari of Whisk: A Food Blog
  15. Tamilyn of Butter My Kitchen
  16. Gretchen of My Sweet Tooth
  17. Rachel of Five Year Plan

I'll announce the winners in a couple days. In the meantime, go make some bacon and eggs and hope you're one of the winners!

I love your method for going about this giveaway. I think the bacon and eggs is brilliant :)

These are just too cute...I'm visiting my daughter and I just showed them to her. She works at Disney and they are always taking fun treats to work. The nice thing is that these would work at at times other than Christmas!

I'm really glad to see I'm in the running for the books...I thought they both sounded great!

What cute little treats! Chocolate and pretzels are one of my favorite combos!

And what an awesome way to do a giveaway! I love it!

Oh my gosh Monica, those are so adorable! I think they would be fun to stick in with the next plate of cookies I bring to work-I know they would get a kick out of them!

Seriously, in the summer when it is warm here again (like 6 months from now) you need to come up here with all your cool tools and show me how to decorate. My Mom asked me to bring a Red Velvet cake to Christmas, wth? Like I have ever made one? We can all get a good laugh at my icing job :)

Very clever contest idea, Monica!!! I did a giveaway once and someone won who never ever read my blog before or after, so I know what you mean.

These little treats are so cute. They turn up a lot for April Fools Day so I was tickled to see them here at Christmas! LOL

That is a very cool way to reward your most faithful readers. Now I can cheer on the people I know on the list.

These treats are adorable. Love how pretty and real they look.

First, Monica, I am grinning at how clever these are! They are adorable, and so...YOU! You got a new camera. You had to, because your photo is awesome!
Now-- I want you to know that you are so sweet and clever to limit your giveaway to your loyal followers. How very sweet. You know that I adore you, my surrogate daughter-- and if I win one of your books-- then I am thrilled. No matter WHO wins, I have to pop into your kitchen everytime you cook or bake something. You're awesome!
Merry Christmas!

Those are so stinkin cute! My kiddos would get such a kick out of them! I am trying to figure out how to make them go with the snowman I am taking to my daughters class tomorrow so that I have an excuse to make them!

These are so adorable and look so easy!!! I know I would pick these first if they were at our family christmas.

I to try to come up with a way to reward my loyal viewers when I have a giveaway... I always hate when someone who has never visited my site before wins, but then again how do we know for sure they haven't? I know a lot of people aren't big on leaving comments, but they still check out and follow your every new recipe and are very much devoted fans.

Hope you have a happy holiday season :)

And I love the little bacon and eggs - so cute!

LOL, I like how you think!

Those are much cuter than they first sounded! :) (I couldn't visualize 'em)I'm kicking myself for not having checked this out sooner. They would have been fun for Babygirl to make for her class plus I could have worked on something else while she did them.

So cute, you are so creative.

I' bummed I didn't win the book, but I do love the idea of the secret giveaway.

I've been lurking on your site and reading for a while but I've never commented. I loved these little treats so much that I decided I was going to leave a comment about them even before I read about your giveaway. I guess I wanted to say that to make sure you know I'm not trying to get something for free. LOL! :-)

Anyway. These are such a cute idea and they are super adorable! I don't like pretzels with chocolate but I want to make these for my next brunch. Thanks for such a great blog and such cute ideas!!

Oh my gosh. These are so completely perfect for the fasting season (from meat) coming up. I love them!!! You are so clever!!!

I do want to express my loyalty, even though I don't always leave comments on your posts. Every time you post something, I do check it out, and usually I'm left salivating. I love your blog and have even said so on my own blog :) I know I can't win anything - which is totally fine - but I just had to send a little love!
