A Request

One of the benefits of having this blog, is that it reaches a lot of people. It humbles me how many people actually stop by to visit me. And because I know you're out there, I'm asking for your help.

I need help, but today it's not for me. I have a cousin who is really sick right now and in the hospital. I don't want to get into the details of why he is where he is, but he certainly could use all the prayers you can spare. If prayer is not your thing, then please wish him nothing but good thoughts, light a candle, chant, whatever it is you believe in!

The next few days hours are really critical for him and he NEEDS to get better or... Well I don't want to think about what could happen to him so please if you're reading this keep my cousin in your thoughts. I don't really know what else to do so I'm believing in prayer. And I'm hoping.

Thank you, Monica

Need A Recipe!

A blog reader of mine, named Betty, emails me occasionally and sends me recipes to try out. Sometimes she send me pictures but mostly just funny stories abou ther life in Maine. She does not have a blog but she has a request for me that I cannot fill. That's where you come in :-)

She's looking for a DELICIOUS- "This is so good I'll have to make it again" kind of recipe. Folks, she's looking for a Chocolate Pound Cake. If you have one that fits this description please help me help her out. Leave a comment and link to it, or email me the recipe.

We'd both appreciate it. Thanks- you all rock!

A Biscuit. A Basket.

I need help with a recipe for Mother's Day brunch. You game?

I need a REALLY GOOD recipe for BISCUITS. They can be fluffy, flaky, sweet, savory, buttermilk, yeast, whatever. They just have to be good with salted butter and/or jam and be borderline extraordinary :-) I'm not asking for too much am I?

I have a recipe for a basic buttermilk biscuits and it's good, but I want the best recipe you have in your little treasure chest. Please only submit recipes that are tried and true.

Can you help me out? Please! Lurkers, it's time for you to come out of the closet.

I'll reward you with a giveaway later in the week :-)

Please Help!!!

I have been asked to make a birthday cake for a 2 year old boy. The birthday is next week (Wednesday the 19th).

I have figured out how to decorate the cake (a sea theme) and I know it will be frosted in buttercream. I have purchased all my supplies from my favorite bake shop, but I need a good cake recipe.

The family said I could make whatever I wanted as long as it wasn't chocolate. The boy can't have peanut butter or honey, but all else is fair game. I was thinking either a white or yellow cake or a version of it, but I want it to be good and moist. I don't want it to taste like a mix or a grocery store cake. I want them to think it's a beautiful cake, but I want them to remember what it tastes like.

Got any suggestions? Please only suggest recipes you have tried or made yourself. I can look online or in a cookbook all day long, but I want your taste bud opinion :-) Or if you haven't made one, please suggest a recipe that has been taste tested.

Thanks Y'all!
