Starbucks Ice Cream Review

I have a few reviews of products that I need to post about and I keep forgetting or other recipes keep winning the prized position so I decided to just bite the bullet and blog about them. I don't advertise on this blog and I tend to not do too many reviews unless it's a product I really like or want to try. That being said, the first review is Starbucks Ice Cream!

I was contacted by a marketing person for Starbucks a few several weeks ago and they sent me coupons for their new line of Starbucks Ice Cream. I am a caffeine fiend and I love me a grande iced mocha no whip, or a grande pumpkin spice latte with two pumps, or a tall mocha frappuccino with a blended shot- no whip. Do you see where I'm going with this? I love Starbucks so I was thrilled to try their premium ice cream.

The reason it's taken me so long to blog about them is because Mr. H ate the first batch I bought so I had to buy more and take pics before he dove back in. I did manage to get 3 of the 4 ice cream flavors untouched. By the time I got to the Mocha Frappuccino flavor it was 3/4 gone!

So here are their flavors. I recommend trying them out this holiday season. If you're a coffee lover these will not disappoint! Thank you Starbucks!

Mocha Frappuccino

- Swirled Coffee and Chocolate Ice Cream

This was Mr. H's favorite. He said he left me a few scoops to photograph but I went to scoop and I was barely able to get one melted scoop out. He loved this one because it was the perfect blend just like his favorite blended beverage.

Coffee

- Swirled Coffee and Espresso Ice Cream

This one is nice for a coffee ice cream purist. No muss, no fuss just creamy coffee ice cream. This would be awesome served affogato style.

Caramel Macchiato

- Swirled Coffee and Vanilla Ice Creams with Ribbons of Golden Caramel

The name says it all! This one was delicious. I don't generally like caramel but this one was GOOD. I was dieing (is that spelled right?) to make an apple pie for Thanksgiving just so I could serve this along side it. Wouldn't that be dreamy?

Java Chip Frappuccino

- Coffee Ice Cream with Dark Chocolate Chunks

This one is perfect if you like chunky bits in your ice cream like I do. The coffee and chocolate go perfectly together.

  2. I will be hunting down the Caramel Macchiato flavor. That is my drink of choice from Starbucks and I am drooling just imagining it in ice cream form.

    Thanks for the heads up!

  5. Okay, hold on. Back up .... you "don't generally like caramel"? Umm, since when? Have you told me before and I just spaced out? I'm in shock. Give me a sec I'm still in shock.

Next you'll tell me something equally insane like you don't like PB and chocolate together when even a weird one like me, who doesn't like chocolate likes those two together! :) Oh, wait! You don't like those two together. :)

I just can't believe it. Btw, thanks for the review!

  16. I think Starbucks ice cream is probably one of the worst brands I've ever had....yes, the first ingredient is cream, but the second ingredient is water, so you've basically got watered down cream that's been thickened with locust bean gum...not what I look for in a premium priced brand.

You know how ice creams with too much water in them make your mouth hurt...that's Starbucks, all name, no quality.
